The first version: based on a primary source (AZR's writings)
Early version. The starting point of the genealogical research. Documented for the sake of completeness; the later versions and "The AZR Lineage: Full Summary" supersede it.
This is the starting point of the entire genealogical research: an initial reconstruction of AZR's lineage from his autobiographical writings (Chapters of Memories, Project Ben-Yehuda). This version rested on a single source — AZR's own words — upon which the additional verification channels were later built.

The Limitation of a Single Source
Why additional channels were needed: This version rested on one source — self-recollection. Self-recollection is reliable for the bloodline but selective, and not independent. The research therefore continued to Tidhar, Geni, and JewishGen — three independent channels that corroborated the first version and turned it from partially verified to well verified. The 1875 conscription record (JewishGen) is the first external confirmation of the central link (Tsvi-Hirsh as the father).
